We work hard to keep WBD an effective, professional, trusted partner for all your SBA 504 needs. Make no mistake, building great relationships with lenders is a big part of our job and we take it seriously. We would not be one of the most successful CDC’s in the USA if we were not good at our job.
But what does WBD being one of the top 504 lenders in the nation mean to you and your community? Well first it means we are ready to work with all of you, when and wherever we can help your customers with access to long-term capital. It also means we are good at what we do.
With retooled systems and better trained staff we have shown our abilities by adding over $620 million to our portfolio in the last couple of years. That is a lot of support for the small business community, a lot of new jobs and a growing portfolio.
Now with a portfolio of over $1 Billion, WBD’s financial footing is strong and our commitment to our nonprofit mission is growing. In the last 4 years WBD has been able to award over $1.25 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across Wisconsin and Minnesota.
These projects are all in line with our mission to grow businesses, create jobs and build communities. These grants typically range from $5,000 - $50,000. Our support is helping to train workers, encourage entrepreneurship and even address needs of existing businesses (like how to get started with AI).
We are always looking for great local organizations who have a program WBD could support and welcome referrals from our partners. WBD now has a committee that reviews applications on a quarterly basis, so anytime is a great time to apply.
If want to learn more or refer someone to information on applying for a grant go here. If you want to talk to a real human about any of this, reach out to SVP Lance Walter (lwalter@wbd.org 608-316-7156). We have confirmed he is human and happy to help.
