WBD supports the Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) in their efforts and vision in making Wisconsin a better place to live and work through economic advancement. Through advocacy, networking and education, they provide their members with the resources and tools to strengthen their skills in economic development, in helping them achieve their professional goals and promoting economic growth throughout the state.
WEDA President and CEO, Mary Perry, looked to WBD for support in her efforts to make significant improvements to their programming and operations. The funding that was requested would go towards:
• Employee/contractor costs
• A WEDA educational scholarship
• A paid internship position
• A WEDA website upgrade
• Explore and match new expanded public grants to continue performing research and providing tools to members
With WBD’s support, WEDA has made considerable progress in being able to meet these programming and operations improvement goals - they made significant headway with new staff/contractors, attracting people in rural communities with grants and a scholarship, a new website component and research to fuel future projects.
