WBD is proud to have New North, Inc. as a Mission Partner. New North is a regional marketing and economic development corporation fostering collaboration among private and public sector leaders throughout northeast Wisconsin.
Barb LaMue, the President and CEO of New North and a Board Member at WBD, sought our support for their initiatives in cultivating an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Aligned with our mission to reinvest in economic development, create jobs, and strengthen communities, we gladly collaborated to contribute to their vital initiatives.
New North came to WBD to request assistance for two initiatives to continue building the entrepreneurial ecosystem in northeast Wisconsin:
- Support seven local pitch contests and the NEW Launch Alliance pitch
- Support production of a nationally syndicated television segment (Operation Career) promoting post-service opportunities to transitioning service members
New North’s local contests include nearly 50 startups whose founders are required to update their progress and attend events with local partners.
The Operation Segments will air across The Armed Forces Network in 168 countries to 600,000 active duty, DOD and ships at sea, as well as airing on the Lifetime Network and national broadcast syndication.
New North’s efforts have made a positive impact in northeast Wisconsin for many years. These new and continuing projects will provide resources and opportunities to thousands of people. WBD is proud to support New North.
